My re-imagining of the compact SAK

Das ist meine Idee für ein neu gestaltetes kompaktes SAK. Ich hätte gerne ein leichtes, dünnes SAK, das sich zum Bauen/Reparieren von Sachen aus Leder oder Stoff eignet. Ein schlanker Begleiter zu einem kleinen Nähset. Also hab ich es entworfen und die Klinge durch einen Nahttrenner und das Multifunktionswerkzeug mit Flaschenöffner durch eine Ahle ersetzt. Im Korkenzieher könnte man eine kleine Menge Nadeln und Faden aufbewahren, die zum Lösen von Knoten nützlich sein könnten. Der Paket-Haken mit Nagelfeile hat mehrere Verwendungszwecke zum Ziehen/Tragen von Sachen. Die Nagelfeile könnte man vielleicht zum Schärfen stumpfer Nadeln verwenden! Ich bin mir nicht sicher, womit ich den Druckstift ersetzen soll, aber ich bin mir sicher, dass es etwas gibt, das ihn ersetzen könnte.

This is my idea for a re-imagined compact SAK. I would love to have a light weight, thin SAK that is geared towards building/repairing items that are made of leather or cloth. A thin companion to a small sewing kit. So i drew it up and I replaced the blade with a stitch ripper and the bottle opener multi-tool with an awl. You could store a small amount of needles and thread in the corkscrew that could be useful for undoing knots. The parcel hook with nail file has several uses for pulling/carrying things. The nail file could possibly be used to sharpen blunt needles!

The toothpick, tweezers, and pin can stay. I'm unsure about what to replace the pressurized pen with but I'm sure something could replace it.

IanD Das gefällt mir ,Papier und Stift und eine gute Idee.👍So hat sich Technik schon über viele Jahrzehnte entwickelt.Natürlich auch ein kluger Kopf der es auf das Papier bringt.Von mir Volle Punktzahl👍👏👍

Love this. There's something very satisfying and genuine about a tool that has a very specific purpose.

bornchan this is exactly what i was looking for. A multi tool that serves a specific purpose that you can throw into a small sewing kit that would complement it perfectly.

29roadie i just submitted it! I added a couple of extra things. Like the toothpick could be used re tooled to have a needle threader on the tip. And the pressurized pen could be hollow with a cork cap to keep needles inside of.

Erinnert mich ein wenig an die beiden Bernina Wenger Tools. Das Mini Bernina Wenger haben wir seit Jahren hier. Wird aber kaum genutzt.

NobiBrck yes! Someone linked those to me as well. The bigger one looks great but its way too big for the purpose i want to use it for. The smaller one is nice, but it only has one tool that could be useful for sewing. The bare minimum a mini SAK sewing tool should have is scissors, awl, and a stitch ripper. The nail file and blade are kinda useless for sewing really.

SchiefBe thank you! Even if it doesn't get approval, i could probably mod it into existence myself. Ill only replace 2 tools, and modify the other 2 tools. The writing pen will be hollowed out for storing needles, and the tooth pick will be modified into a needle threader.

IanD Ein Korkenzieher ist beim Nähen auch irgendwie seltsam. ;-) Für Löcher ist eine Ahle besser. Meine Frau nutzt für Näharbeiten gerne ein normales Classic SD. Zum Nähte auftrennen findet sie die kleine Klinge besser als den Nahtauftrenner vom Wenger. Die Nagelfeile findest du nun nutzlos und oben schreibst du eine Nagelfeile am Pakethaken zum schärfen stumpfer Nadeln?

IanD Might I suggest you get a get one of the 58mm Golfers and modify the Divot Repair tool into your seam ripper. With some filing I'm sure you could modify it into something functional representing a seam ripper if you took your time. I've seen them come up used quite a few times.

There's one on eBay from a seller I have purchase from several times.

29roadie out of all the suggestions I've had for modifying an existing tool or suggesting something different to add, this is the best suggestion by far. With minimal effort as well. When the time comes I'll figure something out. But thank you for your suggestion!

NobiBrck The corkscrew isn't there for sewing, it's there for undoing tight knots. I work alot with paracord or just tight knots in general. The corkscrew is perfect for wiggling into them to loosen them up. Undoing knots with your fingers is such a hassle. if your fingers arent good at grabbing small things it's perfect for that. I work alot with leather, so i want a tool that's sturdy and safe to make holes in the leather, so an awl is perfect for that. Ive used knives for cutting stitches before and it always results in me cutting up the material or hurting myself. I have more control using the seam ripper and i feel more safe as well because I'm not afraid of cutting myself or the material I'm working with 🙂

Mit dem Korkenzieher bin ich beim Knoten öffnen zu oft "abgerutscht" durch eine fehlende Arretierung. :-) Schon mal ein "Skipper" ausprobiert zum Knoten öffnen ?
