stuntzombie What models are you hearing this about?
This is one of my main complaints about many of the newer 111mm knives that I've had.
I was out working on a fence on the other side of our property and I got a huge cedar sliver under my finger nail. My new Sentinel Clip knife was completely useless in trying to dig it out. It was like a butter knife. I ended up digging the sliver out with a fence wire staple. I nearly launched that knife into the trees. When I got home I gave it to my wife and told her that I never wanted to see it again. I sight irreconcilable differenced as the reason for our permanent separation.
Something must have changed in the way they sharpen them in recent years. It's less of an issue with my Garant knives and no issue at all with my full serrated blades on my slide lock knives.
I can't believe this non sharpened tip is within acceptable tolerance levels as I've not seen it myself in any other sized knives to this extent.
Yes it can be rectified but should that be the purchasers problem? I would think quality control inspection would start at the blade tip and work back.
Specifically talking about the 111mm knives that I've had. I find it hard to believe that this could be an error and quality control problem. I think there must be a reason why they've done it.
