MichaelRothenpieler Do you know if they actually stay put in the holder. These are the 4mm bits that you need to use a small magnet to keep them in the tool right? Does the tool still close fully with the bit in? Those are all issues I’ve seen with all the off brand bits guys use.
I was getting kind of obsessed with trying to find more bits for the tool. I really wanted some Robertson bits. It’s a Canadian thing, but far superior to a Philips when you have a good fitting bit.
Then suddenly I realized it’s not really that kind of tool. I think I’d destroy it pretty quick if I used it like a true multi screwdriver. There’s quite a difference in screwing and unscrewing electronic machine screws and screwing a wood screw into the wall to hang a picture. The first stuck fastener on motorcycle that you come across you’re either breaking the bit or loosening the knife up big time.
I’m convinced Victorinox chose the 4mm bits size on purpose to make sure it was largely used as it was intended. To work on electronics. That hadn’t dawned on me right away. I don’t know why. Probably I was to focused on finding more bits. It’s a precision screwdriver only really. Yes it can do others tasks but that’s not what it’s designed for.
Can you imagine how many tool failures Victorinox would have to deal with if the driver took standard 1/4” bits? There’s already YouTube guys putting socket adapters on these and turning bolts as tight as they can. 😬
I have multiple professional trades so my precision electronic tools mix with my mechanical tools a lot but I know when not to use them.
This is my own opinion and everyone can choose to use theirs however they want.
