hitman13 I always see references to a blade length restriction and also that locking blades are prohibited unless you can prove you need it for work am I correct? I have communicated to people trying to buy a knife from me who have also said having a knife shipped in to them is completely different than if they transported it with them into the country. It sounds complicated.
I think I also read something about retailers not being necessarily restricted in what they sell but it was illegal to actually buy and own a knife they were selling. That sounds bonkers. Talking about setting someone up for failure. Though having said that I was just in a shop the other day that was selling gravity assisted knives that don’t require anything but gravity to open. I asked the retailer if they knew they were prohibited and specifically mentioned in our regulations. He told me that only referred to some importing of them but not the knives themself. I didn’t argue but I did check when I got home and I was correct. It just shows you really need to educate yourself in this sort of thing.
