I enjoy creating wax seals for letters, I find it relaxing. I use my SAK to cut the wax sticks before melting them and the scissors to cut the paper ribbon to decorate the seal.

Wo bekommst Du die Siegel/Stempel her, machst Du die selber?

MichaelRothenpieler yes, I have a metal stamp with the pattern on it, the wax is melted over a candle, poured on the envelope and then the stamp pressed into it.

It is so relaxing because it is a long, old-fasioned process that needs preparation and time spent to make it work.

I’d be interested to know where he got them too. I have seen them before but I don’t remember where.

I have a friend who just lives down the road from me. He’s a really talented engraver. He actually made my wedding ring. One of the things he will make are rings with a family crest meant to be pressed into hot was to make a seal. Just like they did centuries ago.

Hello everyone.

I have finished for the weekend. Not only that I am now on leave from work for the next 3 weeks!! YAY!

This will be the longest period I've had off work since 2005.

Celebrating by christening my Companion with its first opening of a beer!
