Standard, Camper, Spartan?!

I need help with a model number and name. I believe this 1960s knife is old enough to not be called a Spartan, but would it be considered a Standard? U.S. catalogs call it a Camper (see image). And is this a 234, 234u, or am I completely off? Any help is appreciated! Lucius513 Yes exactly. If you want a Serrated blade you'll need third knife, a Weekender/Serrated Spartan,etc. To get the scarce Victorinox Hex bits you'll need to source those out or steel them from an XXL.

There are a few other ways to do it and you can also cut corners too. If you don't care about the file on the Compact package hook you could get a combo tool and key ring spacer from a Bantam and drill the hole larger and use that along with the Cybertool's Scissors. You can cut corners on the scales too by gluing the original Plus scales back on. The brand new discontinued green plus scales I used probably cost the same as a Compact knife now if you can even find some.

29roadie Thanks for all this information. Much appreciated. I was mostly curious, as I can't really get the mods anyway. But if things change in the future, I have a clear idea now, thanks to you. ☺️

I don't need the hex bits, by the way, and I have the XXL (and 2 XAVTs) to borrow them from if I did. As for the scales, I'm fine with the translucent red ones I have… I don't even like green. I do wish I could get them though (and the yellow ones) so I could have the Explorer in plus scales in all the main colors. 😁

SCTwist Yes, I think you're right they just don't know. The only negative with the 91mm serrated blade that I've found is the same as it's biggest positive. It's scary sharp.

Lucius513 Oh ya no problem. That's the thing with custom knives, you have a lot of options.
