Yes, for the older Wenger Rangergrips, the deterioration and delamination of the black rubber grips happens. I’ve also seen quite a few cases of “bloom” happening (powdery white stuff on the rubber surface) of unused Rangergrip left in storage. Unfortunately with Wenger now gone, there’s no way of getting the actual replacement scales/grips..
However I’ve noticed that the rubber of the Victorinox Rangergrips hold up much better. Maybe it could be just higher grade rubber grips being used.
