29roadie Jumedina72 Sorry what knife were you wondering about? The translation says "Unbranded" but they are all Victorinox brand.
29roadie Komrade Interesting. I recently picked up a Final Production Run in Canada knife. I mention mine to the Victorinox Collection Manager (I wont reveal his username) last week and he said he thought it could have been made by someone like that SB knife seller. Another name I don't like to use but for different reasons. They have operations in both Canada and the USA so that might make sense. Do you have any other information on it?
Komrade 29roadie Unfortunately I don't have much info. Most of the SAK sites just parrot one another. It appears that these were available in a few different countries, and that they were produced by and sold by Victorinox. Variations (different engravings) of this knife were sold in the U.S. (5000 copies), Canada (unknown number), France (999 copies), Italy (999 copies), and possibly other countries. Apparently the French and Italian editions were sold in sets with the Soldier 2008 (111 mm) with 09 tang stamps. If anyone has any corrections or additions I'd love to hear them.
29roadie I made it back home late last night. It was a very long travel day. I picked up a few other knives on the last day or so of my trip to Switzerland. I never collected these Place to Be knives before but apparently now I do. I made a new contact in a small little random Swiss souvenir shop who has access and who imports knives from Asia. They were supposed to have 4 different colours of Alox Ramblers delivered that day when was there but they were delayed. I did pick up a couple of knives they had that impressed me. The artwork and design coming out of China I find quite impressive at times. There is one other in this series apparently. Does anyone collect Chinese Victorinox knives? This has a textured grippy detailed surface. You can really see the texture on the logo side of the knife. They spoke to me so they had to come home with me. They are a Fortune Series one represents Gold and the other Luck (those are firecrackers at the top) . . . . . . . .
