SchiefBe I feel the same way. I have a couple of New Old Stock CampFlames that I picked up a couple of months ago. They’ve never even had gas in them but I’ll probably keep them that way. I did buy all of the necessary parts to rebuild them should I change my mind at some point. I’ve put a couple of kits of parts in small zip lock bags and I keep them in the box with the knives just in case I get hit by a bus one day.
To be honest I have horrible luck with anything that is butane powered. I’ve had multiple lighters, mini torches and gas powered soldering irons. They all fail on me. I thought this might be because of low quality fuel but l’ve tried every type I can find over the years with the same results. I’ve followed all directions on filling and everything. I gave up on butane tools years ago. I used to smoke a pipe and the jet type of butane lighters aren’t recommended for use on expensive wood pipes I had anyway.
