29roadie , I also find it surprising that two different versions of the same part for the same model are being produced simultaneously when one would suffice. This upsets the engineer in me, who craves standardization and unification. 🙂
But I believe there's a simple explanation.
As we know, if a warehouse has several items with different expiration dates, in most cases the first item to be picked for sale or use is not the one with the earliest expiration date ("First In First Out", FIFO), but the one closest to the person, ignoring the expiration date at all (so it's not even LIFO -- "Last In, First Out", -- but "Whoever's Closest Is The One Chosen").😉
Perhaps the same situation applies here. Who knows?
Therefore, installing one blade variant or another on the same model is a matter of chance (IMO). However, the symmetrical blade on the Alox and Onefold models looks more attractive (and neater) from an aesthetic standpoint.
So I hope the Alox Solo and Onefold models with symmetrical blades will continue to be produced.
