I have the regular Venture with the red handle. I have polished mine (mirror finish) and rounded a bit the spine and I use it mostly as a kitchen knife. It is made from a very good steel compared to other kitchen knives, keeps a good edge, is thick and stable and it easily slices vegetables. Since is not a wide blade the food stick is not a problem as it falls off on the next cut.
At Victorinox, please make kitchen knives in this steel.
For outdoors activities, splitting wood and general abuse I have an F1X that is way more beefier than the Venture. I got the Venture especially for lighter use around the house.
