MichaelRothenpieler Yes, that is true. Everyone is different. I’ve personally never had to dig or pry on a knife with a key ring long or hard enough to experience a “hot spot” or discomfort some users complain about. Maybe they’re just more sensitive, I don’t know.
I should say I’ve only been using a pocket hook to hang my knives vertical in my pocket for about a year. Up until then I never had much use for a key ring on any of my knives. I hate having things on my keys so even on the small knives I don’t use it. Since I’ve been hanging them in my pocket I’ve started carrying knives with many more layers. I just don’t notice their size anymore. Now going back to having a knife in the bottom of my pocket is noticeable.
If I do decide to carry the Companion Alox Slim regularly I might get a silver one and weld on a small key ring loop to the Alox scale. It wouldn’t take much. I suppose I could also just do it to the red one I have already.
