I have a 58mm Classic and a 74mm Executive (a great, but discontinued EDC) and they both have symmetrical scales end to end. Is there any reason why the 91mm couldn’t have symmetrical scales. Would you prefer it? I think I would. This picture shows what I mean, the 91mm has scales that are wider at the bottom.

Das ist dem Umstand geschuldet, dass Pinzette und Zahnstocher an den Nieten vorbei geführt werden müssen. Sieht man schön bei transparenten Schalen. Da sitzt die Niete der Tools einigermaßen mittig

Aber es stört mich ehrlich gesagt nicht sonderlich

WilliamR I’ve always thought it was to provide a bit more on a mechanical grip on the knife. Even though it’s only slightly wider that helps quite a bit in my opinion. If it was symmetrical in certain conditions like cleaning a fish for example the knife might slip out of your hands like a wet bar or soap. I could be wrong but that’s something I’ve experienced on more than one occasion with knives.

WilliamR Nunca me había fijado en ese detalle. La verdad, estaría interesante ver una 91mm como una executive. La executive es una gran navaja, tengo una negra y me encanta.

Quizás la asimetría de la 91mm tenga que ver con el agarre como habéis comentado. Tiene sentido

In the picture above I have edited it so that the one on the left is the same width along its whole length. Unlike the unaltered image on the right which is wider at the bottom.

Jetzt verstehe ich, was Du meinst. Die Schalen sind konisch, auf Deinem Bild "oben" schmaler als "unten".

Das hat mich eigentlich noch nie gestört, es war mir noch nicht einmal aufgefallen…

I’ve always noticed it but wondered why most other Victorinox knives aren’t like this?

My 58mm, 74mm and 93mm Alox all have parallel sides and just seem to look nicer.

Also mir war es bis heute noch nicht einmal aufgefallen. Von daher habe ich wieder was gelernt

You people are terrible, while I have noticed it, I never really thought about it.

But now seeing it, this "problem" will live in my brain and bother my need for symmetry. 😀

I guess I will have to throw out my 111mm knives before my brain explodes. 🤪

All kidding aside I'd love to see an 84 or 91 Executive.
