I never thought I would use the corkscrew on my Compact while on the go, at home I have and enjoy using the Wine master, but it did come in handy a few times. I like that it is still there as the majority of wine bottles here have cork, but yes I do agree that there can be an alternative to it and some models have the new tool as an alternative.
The thing is, that so far, having a screwdriver of some sorts there is not something I would like. Maybe in time Victorinox, or someone else, can come up with something. I still think I would go for my screwdriver than use a pocket knife. Even the ones on my swiss tool do not get that much usage.
