Messerbaer60 Laws vary widely across the US. Urban areas tend to be a lot tighter, especially on firearms. It's really a patchwork of "no guns, period", "guns only in certain circumstances/calibers/styles", overruled by state laws or court rulings that say "well actually" to varying degrees, and the enforcement of it all is super inconsistent. In short, it's a total mess, mostly due to the gun-worshiping weirdos and the firearm lobbyists. That's all probably off topic for this forum, though. 😄
For knives, some areas have no length limit, most have a 3" limit, and a few places here and there are a 2.5" limit. Unfortunately, Chicago is one of the 2.5" areas, and a 91mm Victorinox blade is about 2.7", making it technically illegal to carry. (I'm certain people still do, but it's technically illegal.) That's why I'm glad Vic is starting to make more bladeless models, though with a package opener they're still not technically bladeless for no-blade-at-all areas (like airports, courts, hospitals, etc.)
