Three Great Product Suggestions

Ciao a tutti, grazie per avermi invitato qui. Questo è il mio primo post È strano che non ci sia un forum su questo argomento, quindi userò questo Ho tre semplici suggerimenti per migliorare la linea di prodotti che non richiedono alcuno sforzo da parte di Victorinox, ma che migliorerebbero notevolmente le cose Il primo è facile: tirate fuori un "Ranger" da 111 mm. Sarebbe un modello fantastico. Le pinze Vic SAK vanno bene, ma come tutti sanno hanno un uso limitato e non sono ideali per un SAK più grande, soprattutto con quelle dimensioni, perché si entra in concorrenza con i multiutensili basati sulle pinze. Credo che il WorkChamp vada bene (ne ho uno e mi piace), ma non ho mai capito bene l'Hercules o il Tradesman (entrambi ormai fuori produzione). Il "Ranger" da 111 mm sarebbe invece un modello fantastico e, secondo me, molto popolare! Suggerimento numero due: per gli appassionati di equitazione. Non capisco davvero a cosa serva una sega per legno rispetto a una sega per metallo per chi va a cavallo. Se andassi a cavallo, potrei spesso avere bisogno di limare una sbavatura o levigare alcuni graffi su alcune parti metalliche della briglia o, naturalmente, levigare ammaccature/scheggiature in un ferro di cavallo. La lima per metalli mi sembra una scelta molto più logica e, in caso di necessità, può anche fungere da sega per legno, mentre il contrario non è vero! Suggerimento numero tre: l'anello portachiavi del Classic è dalla parte sbagliata del coltello. Penso che tutti riconosciamo il Classic come un coltello da portachiavi e forse la metà di noi ne tiene effettivamente uno sul portachiavi. Questo suggerimento non fa alcuna differenza per chi non lo fa, ma fa una grande differenza per chi lo fa. Se si gira il cacciavite, le chiavi sono davvero d'intralcio perché penzolano dalla mano e rendono l'operazione di rotazione difficile, se non impossibile, davvero molto scomoda. Se invece fossero dall'altra parte del coltello, si adatterebbero perfettamente al palmo della mano mentre giri. Lo stesso vale per l'uso della lama, ma è meno problematico perché non c'è bisogno di girare. Ovviamente questo significa che le chiavi saranno dall'altra parte, ma usare le forbici con le chiavi in quella posizione non è un problema! Suggerimento quattro: ce n'era un altro, ma l'ho dimenticato. Se me lo ricordo, lo riporterò! ;-) Cosa ne pensate, ragazzi? E naturalmente Victorinox?

Hello Everyone - Thanks for inviting me here - This is my first post

Surprisingly I don't see a discussion board for this topic - SO this one will have to do

I have three very simple product line improvement suggestions that require zero effort for Victorinox but will greatly improve things

First one is easy: Bring out a 111mm 'Ranger' - What an awesome model that would be - The Vic SAK pliers are OK - But as everyone knows are limited in their use and not great for a larger SAK - especially at that size you are competing with plier based multitools. I guess the WorkChamp is OK (I have one - and like it) - Never really understood the Hercules or the Tradesman - (bothe now retired) - But the 111mm 'Ranger' would be an awesome and I believe very popular model !

Suggestion Two: For the Equestrian - I am really not sure what use a wood saw compared to a metal saw is for an equestrian. If I ride horses I could often have a need to file off a burr, or smooth some scratches on some of the metal bridle parts, or of course smooth off dent/chip in a horseshoe. The metal file seems to be a much more logical choice to me - and at a pinch can even double up as a woodsaw, the reverse of course is not true!!

Suggestion Three: The keyring loop on the Classic is at the wrong end of the knife. I think we all recognise the Classic as a keychain knife and maybe half of us actually keep one on a keychain. This suggestion makes no difference for those who don't and a great deal of difference for those who do. if you are turning the screwdriver the keys really get in the way as they dangle out of your hand, and make the turning operation difficult, and if not impossible, really really awkward. Whereas if they were at the other end of the knife they would just neatly fit into the cup of your palm as you turn. Same applies to using the blade but less of an issue as no turning. Of course this means that the keys will be at the scissors end - But using the scissors with the keys in that position is not and issue!

Suggestion Four: There was another - But I have forgotten it - Will revert if I remember!! ;-)

What are your thougts team?? And of course Victorinox?

Bei Vorschlag 1 meinst Du ein 111-er mit der Toolbestückung vom 91-er Ranger?

ralph-hale ein interessanter Vorschlag. Ja, das Tradesman hat die Zange, statt der Schere.

Sowohl dem Tradesman, als auch dem Herkules fehlen eine Lage zum Workchamp, weswegen diese beiden Modelle nicht mehr gebaut werden

Gute Idee, aber ich denke, aus diesem Grund wird es das nicht geben

Don't understand why yu say the TM and HC lacking a layer compared to the WC were reasons for their withdrawal, or why that would mean a five layer Ranger would not be produced.
Surely the reason for withdrawal is product sales not matching targets.
And the important thing is the specific toolset in a model - not the number of layers
At least for me the 111mm Ranger is a better model even than the WorkChamp for the reasons described above!
ie A more compact model without the not so useful pliers for that beefiness of size!

Wer zum TM oder HC greift, greift doch lieber zum WC, dafür ist der preisliche Unterschied zu gering

Deine Idee ist super, ich glaube Dir auch gerne, dass es für Dich optimal wäre.

Aber sehen das andere Kunden auch so? Wenn 2 5-Lagen-Modelle nicht gegen das WC ankommen, warum dann ein 3.? Das sehe ich als Problem…

Not at all Michael - I think you are missing the point - or at least my point.

Over at multitool.org there are many discussions about minimal carry for your needs - All the tools you need and none that you don't!
My point is the TM and HC had the wrong toolset - Who wants dinky SAK pliers in a large SAK, when you can buy a Leatherman Wane, or Wingman, Sidekick etc etc with a decent set of pliers
If people did not buy the TM or HC - As I said above - it's because the toolset is wrong - That does not automatically rule out all five layer models !! TBH - I never understood why this model did not exist even over the TM and HC
The 91mm Ranger is a wonderful model - The blades, openers, metal fille, wood saw, scissors is a classic SAK toolset - Would it not be great for it to have a beefy 111mm cousin. Taking away a thick layer (from the WC) with the not very useful pliers.which just adds unnecessary bulk !!!
Maybe you think Vic should discontinue the 91mm Ranger in favour of the Handyman??
….. Although maybe Vic will do that ! as we all know their product range shrinks - sometimes dramatically - every year!!

I understand reducing manufacturing diversity and costs - I just think this model would be a great seller- (and way outstrip sales for the TM HC - And maybe even the WC!!

Anyway it's pretty clear you are not going to agree with me - We'll agree to disagree - So no need to reply - I'd love to hear some other opinions !!

Let's hear it folks - Anyone think a five layer 111mm 'Ranger' would be a fabulous model??

ralph-hale da stimme ich mal nicht mit Dir überein.

Du kannst ja gerne dieses Modell toll finden, es ist aber individuell Deine Meinung.

Aufgrund der rechtlichen Bestimmungen in vielen Ländern ist das Führen von 111-er eh erschwert, warum dann ein solches Modell noch zusätzlich auf den Markt bringen?

Und weder Du musst "Deine Klappe halten " (der Wunsch ist ja legitim), noch dürfen andere sich kritisch dazu äußern.

Hast Du belegbare Zahlen, dass ein solches Modell wirklich der Renner wird oder ist das lediglich Deine persönliche Hypothese?

Hier muss niemand jemand was beweisen. Jeder darf sich im respektvollen ton äussern. Zum thema, die erste idee finde ich gut und würde ich unterstützen. Die zweite idee ist natürlich wieder spezifisch und in einer Spezial Edition gemacht werden. Bei der dritten idee kann man sich abhelfen. Ich habe ein mini karabiner an meinem kleinen messer, fals ich es spezifisch anwenden muss, nehme ich es vom Schlüsselbund.

Ich bin ein Grosser fan von denn 111er… aber eine Zange im Sackmesser ist jetzt nicht meine wahl…. Da wenn ich eine Zange benötige, möchte ich mit der ganzen Hand Druck ausüben und nicht nur mit dem Daumen… da wäre das Multitool schon top!!
