29roadie MichaelRothenpieler Yes, I hear you. Forest fires are a huge problem here and every year it’s a little bit worse. The more rain I get now gives me hope that August might be less of a problem. It’s cloudy and 18 degrees here today.
MichaelRothenpieler 29roadie un unserer Region gab es neulich einen Waldbrand, war für unsere Verhältnisse schon heftig. Jedoch hat der Borkenkäfer große Waldbestände in den letzten Jahren auch vernichtet. Da hatte es nicht geregnet
29roadie We’ve been dealing with something called the Mountain Pine Beetle here in BC for a couple of decades. That’s been devastating. It’s worse in some areas based on the number of Lodge Pole Pine trees. It’s the dry summers that really make that much worse for us here. 3+ months of no rain is normal now. A couple of years ago the temperature got up to 41 degrees. Usually mid 30s is really high for here. I live up on a mountain so every time I hear a helicopter flying near I look to see if it has a water bucket attached. I have an app on my phone that keeps me updated on the fire situation called BC Wildfire. It says there are only 37 fires burning right now but it’s still very wet and cool. Usually it’s in the hundreds. I really hope you have a mild year without any problems. It’s one of the worries that goes along with living in a forest unfortunately.
