Sometimes progress takes a while. If we didn’t move forward we’d still all be driving Model T Fords.
The French wine industry in particular have had a strange resistance to change in the past. As a result they lost sales to American, Australian and New Zealand Wine producers who applied science to produce great tasting wine. They have caught up now, but resisting the use of a clearly superior (and cheaper) closure for wine bottles won’t do them any good in the long run, except perhaps for expensive niche low volume varieties of wine. A market many would be happy for them to keep.
Two of our in stock favourite French wines, I believe both have won awards. Zero possibility of Cork Taint is a bonus for me when buying wines like this.
