eisenherz6 These CampFlames have never even had gas in them so I think I’m going to try and keep them like that then move them along to a real collector in a few years. Sell them or trade them but I can’t think of anything I really I want so I’d probably sell them. I think if I was a smoker that might be different, I don’t know. I’ll keep all the spare parts I have to rebuild them in the knife boxes in case they don’t work for their future owner.
You’re right I could remove the wood saw and fine screwdriver and replace them with the scissors and parcel hook to get a SwissFlame. If I did do that I’d have to call it a modified knife and not original if I were to sell it. I know I personally wouldn’t pay the same for a modified knife as I would an original. Now if Victorinox were to do the swap of parts I might do it and then sell them as a pair. But we know that will never happen.
I have seen a picture of a translucent blue flame knife and I think they look really great. Just like the translucent blue CyberTool knives. I don’t know if it’s just because they are uncommon that I like them so much. I’ve asked myself that more than once. I know where there’s a Translucent Blue CyberTool M sitting in a shop new for sale that I’m drawn to. I keep telling myself I already have two red ones and I could just swap the scales on one. But my box wouldn’t say the knife has blue scales and it wasn’t born like that. I think I’m probably insane that this bothers me.
