So the way they work is when you walk in they ask you if you want to sell or pawn an item. If you sell it to then you'll probably get 20% of the actual value. I don't know exactly but it's low. If you Pawn it they will offer you a very low value loan. You will agree to the interest rate and time frame you need to pay to get it back. If you can't meet the time line and pay it off fully the item is usually the shops now. This business model kind of preys on some of the most vulnerable in society while also supplying a source of income for thieves. They are usually highly regulated and restricted in a lot of cities here.
