MichaelRothenpieler 😆 No, I’m not going to do it. I don’t like the idea of doing that to these. They are to perfect. If I find one that’s not mint I might do it.
I have watched a couple of the videos. I would really like to see an honest follow up video from one of those creators who did it originally. Looking at what they’ve done to fix them I would really question if the knife would hold gas for any length of time. They show them being used initially but that’s it. I’ve messed around with small butane torches. Taking them apart and trying to get them to work. I always end up with problems of some type though that was years ago.
The normal Victorinox warranty basically doesn’t apply to these. If you send it in for warranty you might get offered some other model about the same size. I don’t know if they’d send the knife back if you wanted them to. I certainly would hope so. It would be nice to be allowed to pull the knife apart, fix the lighter (if I needed to) then ship the pieces to Victorinox to assemble.
These knives were never shipped to Canada or the U.S.A.. So they’re quite rare over here. Well they’re rare everywhere to some degree I guess.
