I wasn’t able to open this thread in the English version of this site for some reason. I just got an error message. I used the translator on my phone so I apologize in advance I may have missed something.
For me I don’t have a lot of choices when it comes to foreign countries to visit without flying for hours. You couldn’t pay me to visit the one choice I have to drive to for several reasons.
Where I live people don’t tend to go away on a holiday until the winter. Trying to escape the snow and cold usually. I find that it’s just too crowded to travel anywhere in the summer. I get stressed out by it when I should be relaxing. I’ve lived up on my quiet mountain for to long possibly. I guess if you have school aged children there really isn’t much choice. Here people tend to do a lot of trout fishing, water skiing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, floating down the river on an inner tube, etc this time of year and it’s all close to home. I live in one of the most popular tourist destinations at least for Canadians to visit though. They all come here. The big cities are where the international tourists tend to go.
The truth is there’s so much work to be done that you can’t or don’t want to do in the winter it’s a pretty busy time of year. It’s after 9:00 am here and it’s already 27C. I’m putting a new gas tank in my 51 year old truck today. Not something I want to do in the winter.
There are still a number of international destinations I’d like to go to but that would likely be something I’d not want to do in the summer. It’s just to crazy busy everywhere. For now I enjoy watching others go there via pictures or YouTube.
Either way I never really change the knife I take with me no matter what I’m doing. I always choose a knife with lot’s of options anyway. I’m always prepared with the same tools because you just never know. But also small enough that I will have it on me all of the time. My preference is 4 layers give or take a layer.
I never really payed attention to the smaller kitchen type knives until visiting this forum. I don’t even know their correct names. The folding serrated knife is something I will end up getting for my trailer I think. Very useful but storing it folded will eliminate the chance some one will get accidentally cut by it. It’s a great idea.
